Maureen FitzSimons, better known as Maureen O'Hara in America, was a child prodigy. As a person with Irish heritage, and surrounded as her by talented parents, and her family was naturally gifted, it came as a natural. Maureen moved into this loving home on the 17th of August 20 in Ranelagh. Marguerita FitzSimons was a gifted contralto. Her father, Charles FitzSimons, managed a business in Dublin as well as owned a part of the famous Irish soccer team "The Shamrock Rovers." Maureen was the second child of six FitzSimons children. Peggy, Florrie, Charles B. Fitzsimons, Margot Fitzsimons and James O'Hara completed this beautiful family. Maureen did well in sports and loved rough games. The passion for sports was matched by the natural ability to perform. In the end, she received almost all of the Feis Awards for her dramatic and acting performances in her country of birth. In her 14th year she enrolled in the Abbey Theater to follow her goal of studying the classical theater and operatic singing.
