Linda Blair

Linda Blair was five years old when she was the youngest child actor to get a role in The Exorcist. She had previously worked as a model over three years prior to her role in the role of the child who was possessed Regan. Linda quickly gained worldwide fame, was awarded the Golden Globe, and seemed to be destined to win the Academy Award for that role, but when it leaked that certain parts of the character weren't done by her (the demonic voice was dubbed by Mercedes McCambridge, and eight seconds of a stunt model were used) that dream broke and, with it, was probably the initial blow that could have been the start of a successful career. In the following years, she managed to secure leading roles in an array of film. This included the acclaimed television series Born Innocent and Sarah T. Sarah T. Portrait of a Teenage Alcoholic along with Exorcist II - The Heretic. They arrested her and gave her three years' probation when she peer-pressured her into purchasing cocaine at the age of age 18. The widely-publicized bust for drugs caused Linda to be placed on the blacklist in Hollywood and her acting career was soon reduced to B-movies with occasional guest appearances only
